How are the Cash Explosion contestants selected?
Internet entry tickets are divided into small groups of virtual mail bins. Each virtual bin is numbered 1,2,3,4, etc. Entry tickets received through regular mail are grouped and numbered the same way. A certified random number generator is used to determine where each contestant selection and alternates are to come from. If a selection comes from the entries received through regular mail, a blindfolded Cash Explosion representative will reach into the randomly determined mail bin and randomly select an envelope. When a selection is determined to come from an internet (virtual) bin, the random number generator will also select an entry number from that bin. The entry number identifies a contestant name, hometown and other pertinent information.
What are my chances of becoming a contestant?
Your odds of winning will vary, based on the total number of entries that are received for a drawing and the total number of entries that you have submitted for that drawing. The odds of being selected from online entry versus standard mail are essentially the same. A certified random number generator selects entries from groups of mail known as bins. The odds of any given bin (whether physical or virtual) being selected or entries from within that bin are totally random. Thus, keeping the odds of selection virtually even for online or mail-in entries.
